Community Guidelines

Building a safe, respectful space for every learner

Flip & Floss is more than a financial literacy platform—it's a learning community where students, teachers, and families come together to grow. Whether you're chatting in the online forum, sharing in class, or posting on your profile, this is a shared space. That means every interaction—online or in person—must be safe, respectful, and appropriate.

🚫 What's Not Allowed

1. Inappropriate Language or Profanity

  • No swearing, rude, or suggestive language—typed or spoken.
  • No acronyms or emojis used to bypass language filters.

2. Bullying, Harassment, or Intimidation

  • No name-calling, teasing, threats, or exclusion.
  • This applies to everyone: classmates, teachers, and peers in other schools.
  • Even subtle bullying—like eye-rolling, sarcastic comments, or passive-aggressive posts—is not acceptable.

3. Discrimination or Hate Speech

Racism, sexism, homophobia, or targeting anyone based on identity, background, religion, or ability will result in immediate removal from the community.

4. Disrespect Toward Teachers, Facilitators or Peers

  • Class discussions and online posts must remain respectful—even during disagreements.
  • No interrupting, shouting over others, or disregarding teacher instructions.

5. Sharing Personal Information

  • Do not share your full name, address, phone number, school name, or social media profiles.
  • Teachers and moderators will never ask for private personal info.

6. Spamming, Trolling, or Off-Topic Disruption

  • No posting the same message repeatedly.
  • No trying to derail classroom or forum conversations.

7. Inappropriate Media Uploads

  • No memes, videos, or links that are violent, explicit, or irrelevant to the topic.

✅ What's Encouraged

  • Thoughtful and curious questions
  • Respectful replies and feedback
  • Helping others understand
  • Celebrating each other's progress
  • Following instructions from teachers and moderators
  • Reporting inappropriate behavior instead of engaging with it

Teacher & Moderator Roles

Teachers and Flip & Floss moderators help keep this community safe. They have the right to:

  • Delete posts that break the rules
  • Pause or limit commenting privileges
  • Temporarily or permanently remove users from the platform
  • Escalate serious issues to school officials and parents

🚨 Consequences for Breaking the Policy

Flip & Floss uses AI and human moderators to monitor behavior in real-time. If a student breaks the policy, the following actions may be taken:

  • First Violation – Warning and explanation
  • Second Violation – Temporary suspension of chat/forum privileges
  • Third Violation – Removal from the community, with a report to the teacher and/or parent
  • Serious offenses (bullying, hate speech, threats) may result in immediate suspension and a formal incident report.

💡 For Teachers & Parents

Your partnership is essential to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment. We encourage educators to review this policy with students in advance. Parents and guardians are also welcome to reach out if they ever have concerns about community behavior.
